![]() ![]() Money is a bottleneck early, which can be overcome that way. And weaker economy means weaker army and also more manpower problems.Įven so it it seems bad early not take as much provinces from great powers as possible, I think its often the more wise move to take the money. Instead of taking the money to fuel futher conquests, they take land from a weakend enemy just because the opportunity, even tho the provinces are wrong religion, culture, rebels etc and it will cost them decades to break even or actually contributing to their economy.īasically you can make yourself weaker economially by gaining a lot of new territory. I often see new players jump into opportunistic wars (which is good thing in general). Sure mid to late game its all about expansion.īut early its more about building a core region, which can support economially a big army and later conquests. I dont know if you are doing it, but taking early a lot of territorial gains is often a trap itself. So how come manpower is not an issue for many here? In my experience, I struggle with it more than eg with AE or even lack of Admin points. Then they also don't help against rebels nor in wars. If my army is too small, their liberty desire skyrockets. I can handle them, but they again eat up my manpower. Or it just takes forever, bankrupting me because of loans. If I don't, the allies either eventually peace out and I lose the war. Yes, I do try to make my allies do the heavy lifting but often they make poor choices, can't do it alone, siege the wrong provinces etc, which means I HAVE to get involved myself. Building it means less trade, income or troops.ġ.Fighting wars inevitably costs manpower. I know about the manpower building, but it is fairly expensive, especially early on. Without it, I often end up with various manpower issues. But even after 200 hours of EU4, I still find myself picking it fairly often. In this sub, quantity doesn't seem very popular.
